Vedic Trust of NZ Announces $1.2 Million Building Project!

The Vedic Trust of New Zealand is a charitable trust that promotes moral, social, spiritual and cultural values for all communities through Vedic Philosophies. It supports organisations like the Arya Pratinidhi Sabha of New Zealand and others in promoting the Vedic Culture.

After its formation in September 2004, the first project it undertook was to purchase a commercial land that could be used to build a Community Hall. This land was purchased at 32 Glasgow Avenue, Papatoetoe in Auckland, and was fully paid off within three years. It is currently worth about NZ$0.5 million.

The trust is now embarking on the next phase of this project, which is to build a multi-purpose hall on the site for the use of the general community. The estimated cost is NZ$1.2 million. This is the first purpose-built community hall project undertaken by the Arya Samaj community in the Oceania region.

Situated in the heart of Manukau City, the venue is centrally located and is within 10 minutes drive from the Auckland International Airport and is accessible from the Northern Motorway as well as the Mangere Motorway.

The hall will be fully equipped with modern technological facilities and will provide all necessary amenities required to host weddings, functions, seminars and the like and will include a kitchen, dining facilities and secure carpark. The first floor will house offices for the Arya Pratinidhi Sabha of New Zealand.

Fundraising for the project is underway and construction is expected to start by summer 2007. Upon completion, this community hall will have an estimated worth of NZ$3 million.

This is indeed a historical moment for all Arya Bandhus in New Zealand. In eleven short years, the Arya Community will at last celebrate a milestone through this building project.

If you wish to be part of this historical milestone, contact Shri Lau Raj Kumar Ji (Chairman) on +64-274-525 164 or Shri Prakash Rai Ji (Project Manager) on +64-9-269 2944.

Any donations and assistance will be welcomed.
